On July 15th, 1999, I became a Dad for the first time. I was blessed with a beautiful baby boy who eventually grew up to be taller and more educated than Dad.
Meet Patrick Upkes, my oldest child and only son. Patrick grew up loving any type of sport but excelled at baseball. He was always super competitive and still is. I have so many fond memories of working in the dugout at his baseball games. To this day, I would give anything to once again be in the dugout working with his coaches in a heated baseball tournament. Those are some of my most treasured moments as his dad.
Patrick again made me proud when he graduated from Boise State University as a Mechanical Engineer in May 2023. When he and his sisters were born, I made it my personal goal that they would all graduate from a university with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
Patrick is now working in Portland as a Sales Engineer/Account Manager at Trane Technologies. Earlier this year, he passed their very rigorous Graduate Training program in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Patrick is a loyal, dedicated, and hard worker who is already creating an impact for his clients in the Pacific Northwest.
I couldn’t be more proud, and he inspires me every day.
